Our Culture

Many of Sports Thread's employees are former high school and college athletes. While this isn't a prerequisite to working at Sports Thread we want people who understand the lifestyle, challenges and opportunities our members experience.
   Meet The Team
Sean Leary
Founder, Chief Executive Officer (Executive Manager)
In less than two years, 24-year-old Sports Thread Founder and CEO created a visionary, purpose-driven company, raised nearly $2 million, developed a world-class social media platform, and formed a licensee network of 24 territories from Seattle to Florida.  While playing division I baseball for Oral Roberts University, Sean wrote the first generation of Sports Thread.  Today, Sean leads a team of accomplished industry professionals in software development, business development, sales, marketing, and manages the day-to-day operations from the company’s offices in Denver. Sean graduated from Oral Roberts University in May 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Tab Evetts 
Chief Technology Officer
A graduate of Park University with a degree in management and information systems, Tab had a 30-year career spaning both military and civilian positions with EDS, IBM, DOD, and others in systems design and production control management.

Tab also served in the Texas Air and Army National Guards and is a retired combat arms officer. He enjoys spending time with family, RVing, golf, and traveling (for pleasure). He
currently is based out of Schertz TX (just outside San Antonio Texas).

Dick O'Donnell
Chief Marketing Officer
Dick develops and supervises corporate and product marketing strategies and key communications initiatives. A veteran Silicon Valley marketing executive, he previously he was VP of Corporate Marketing at BEA Systems (acquired by Oracle), TIBCO Software and Borland Software. As an independent consultant, he collaborated on marketing projects with more than 400 companies, including: Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Yahoo, Reuters, Cisco, FedEx, Coca-Cola, and the San Francisco 49ers. He also held senior marketing positions with WPP/Burson-Marsteller, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Purdue University.

Ron Voss

Chief Financial Officer, Manager
Ron oversees all financial matters for Sports Thread. He also is the Principal of Voss Financial Services, LLC in Denver, Colorado, which provides accounting, tax and retirement planning for individuals as well accounting and tax services to small and medium-sized businesses in various industries. Ron graduated from the University of Denver in 1970. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Certified Senior Advisor. Previously he worked for Coopers & Lybrand accounting firm.
Krista Slate 
Director of Business Development 
Krista plays many roles, among them, hiring, training and sales development of Sports Thread Brand Ambassadors and Licensees. She provides Licensees with market-specific timelines, including events and market penetration. She is the primary sales support contact for STBAs and Licensees and is the center of information distribution for both groups, and works with the CEO and sales in daily operations. Krista also spearheads sales
and development in the Texas market, including Athletic Director shows, coaches clinics and parent athlete nights.
Lauren Knight Hughes
Director of Marketing 
Lauren manages all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and others to increase engagement with the Sports Thread brand. This includes content curation, monitoring Sports Thread’s online presence and building a loyal follower base of athletes, parents, coaches and organizations, promoting App sales through the dissemination of Licensee promo codes as well as providing customer lead generation and immediate customer service. Lauren also acquires and manages all Sports Thread Social Media
marketing Interns and oversees the Brand Ambassador hiring process for the National Licensee network.
Brad Parker

Sports Thread Manager

Brad is Managing Member of BRP Holdings, LLC. Previously, he was President of Bron Tapes, the premier pressure sensitive tape and adhesive distributor in the United States. He also served as President of Bron Aerotech, the world’s leading supplier of engineered films, fabrics and tapes for the aerospace industry, including aircraft manufacturers and rocket builders. Brad accepted a full football scholarship to the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1979, where he played wide receiver for four years.

Bill McCartney
Advisory Board Member
Coach Bill “Mac” McCartney was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He retired as the winningest coach in the University of Colorado’s football history.  Coach “Mac” transformed a football program in Boulder that won just 14 games over a six-year span into one that claimed three Big 8 Conference titles and the 1990 consensus National Championship.  He won the NCAA Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Award in 1990.
Derrick Martin
Advisory Board Member
Two-time Super Bowl champion, Derrick Martin today is a real estate professional. Skilled in working with nonprofit organizations, coaching, sales, and event management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Wyoming. His is currently head football coach at Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver.
Bill Waters
Advisory Board Member
Bill Waters served as the Chief Accounting Officer and Chief Corporate Strategy Officer of Molson Coors Brewing Company since May 23, 2008, and served as its Vice President until January 2011. Mr. Waters served as Controller of Molson Coors Brewing Company from September 2008 to October 1, 2011. Mr. Waters served as the Chief Financial Officer of Coors Brewing Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Company, since 2006; Vice President of Supply Chain Finance for Coors Brewing Company from 2005 to 2006; and Vice President of Finance of Coors Brewers Worldwide, a wholly owned subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Company, from 2003 to 2005. Prior to that, he served in a variety of senior financial positions since joining Molson Coors Brewing Company's predecessor in 1993. Mr. Waters received an Accounting degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado, in 1989.   

Gerald "Coach" Houck

An enthusiastic football professional and coach for over 30 years, Coach began his career playing at Chicago’s Fenger High School. He was recruited by several major colleges and selected by the University of Colorado at Boulder to play college football. Coach was fortunate enough to play in four bowl games and during his senior year the Buffaloes finished number three in the nation. His high school and college coaching careers include two Colorado high school State Championships and two Division I-AA college championship finals. As a vital member of the Sports Thread team, Coach brings a unique perspective to the recruiting processs having been recruited and then having recruited high school and junior college players throughout his career as well.
Beth Wilderotter
Advisory Board Member
A medical industry executive and former competitive gymnast, Beth was a charter member of theDenver Broncos Cheerleaders (DBC). She performed at Super Bowl XXXII in 1998. Beth was a UDA (Universal Dance Association) National Dance Instructor, choreographer for the Denver University Cheerleaders and many high school dance/cheer teams. She is a mother of three children, ranging from a senior in high school to 3rd grade, all of whom are passionately following their own chosen sports, which include soccer, baseball, football, and yes, competitive dance.
Jay Howarth
Advisory Board Member
Based in Los Angeles, Jay is an award-winning producer, director and actress who has staged some of the most iconic moments in pro sports history. She has been awarded two Super Bowl Rings, three game balls, and an Olympic Gold Medal. She has produced 300 stadium shows for sports industry giants, including: 150 NFL events, 65 NBA , World Cup Soccer, FIFA, 35 MLS Soccer, and 3 US Olympic Games. Jay currently produces live, multi-media events in Hollywood for TV & Film, music, fashion, and theater. She has directed stages for the biggest stars of our time, including: John Travolta, Dustin Hoffman, Jamie Foxx, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilara, Elton John, Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars.
Orlando Poole
Advisory Board Member
Orlando was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He played football, basketball and studied martial arts throughout high school and went on to play semi-pro football with the Colorado Warriors. As a hospital administrator, Orlando stays busy with his day job, but on the weekends headlines with his band, Tunisia, which performed at President Barack Obama’s Presidential Inauguration in 2009 and the Democratic and Republic Conventions.
